Download the mfold software.

Note that mfold has been replaced by UNAFold, a software package that is much easier to install and run and that offers many more types of computations. The mfold_util package is required with UNAFold as it is with version 3.3 of mfold. Download UNAFold here.

Versions 3.xxx of mfold for Unix and Linux operating systems are available via a free license for academic and nonprofit use only; commercial use is available for a fee. Copyright © is held by Washington University. Washington University seeks additional licensees for commercial development and marketing and invites all interested parties to submit proposals. Please direct all requests for licensing, information, and limited evaluation copies to Washington University's Office of Technology Management by E-mail, software@otm.wustl.edu or by telephone, 1-314-747-0920. Please send a copy of these requests to zukerm@rpi.edu. Versions 3.2 (and beyond) distinguishes between folding computations and display software. You will need to take mfold-3.3 for folding and mfold_util-3.3 (or later versions) for creating plots of foldings and for creating dot plots. You must compile sir_graph and boxplot_ng to use mfold as configured. The interactive graphics applications in mfold_util-4.0 will not configure or compile if you are missing the "glut" and related libraries (libglut.*). Similarly, images in gif, png or jpg format will not be created unless libgd is present. Questions about the code should be addressed to Professor Zuker at zukerm@rpi.edu.

Those who wish to have the mfold software for the sole purpose of using the OligoArray2 software¹ are advised to instead download the new OligoArrayAux software written by Nick Markham. The current version may be obtained here: OligoArrayAux .
